about

After a smashing success with his first release on Voltage (VLT001 - Eastern Voice / On The Move), San Francisco’s Double Identity is back with another hot dancefloor tune in the 2-step- meets dub style that only Voltage can produce.

Double Identity is the production alias of DJ Tomas of Umoja Soundsystem who’s had previous releases on SF’s Ubiquity and Sunburn labels and has forthcoming tracks on Exact Science and other labels soon.

“You Requested It” is Double Identity’s newest spacey, melodic, bass-driven, dubstep tune featuring sound system samples, snappy drum programming and lots El-B-style jack moves.

“You Requested It (DJ Abstract Remix)” From drum ‘n’ bass, to techno, to 2-step, DJ Abstract is known for his work across the board with his own Pneuma label, John Tejada’s Palette imprint and the Phunckateck crew. With this lively rework, DJ Abstract goes into the realm of break-step, combing compressed, warbling bass with snappy snares and an arsenal of Voltage dub influence. Zinc and Bingo fans--check this!
